Sound Healing with Darren
Darren Austin Hall, D.Ac. is an Integrated Health Practitioner who specializes in Chinese Medicine, Acupuncture, Sound Healing and inspired living. A graduate of the esteemed Institute of Traditional Medicine where he received his Diploma in Acupuncture and learned under teachers, shamans, indigenous elders from around the world (and even a Druid!), Darren brings a dynamic, holistic approach to his practice drawing from many diverse traditions to help his patients in the many colourful ways cultural evolution has developed. A
long with his domestic studies, Darren studied Kung Fu and a form of standing meditation called Qigong in China for two years where he worked as an English teacher. Darren also has a certificate in Creative Transformation Therapy that he received after completing a two-year intensive with eminent psychotherapist and 'American Shaman', Bradford Keeney, who imparted to him the powerful tradition of Shaking Medicine used by the Bushmen of the Kalahari, perhaps the most ancient healing practice in human history. Darren is also a passionate educator and published writer on health and spirituality and performs sound healing shows under the guise SHEN (Sound Healing ENergy) using quartz crystal singing bowls and mantra with the Chakra model to show people that the best antidepressant is music. He has also worked as a volunteer for the PWA (People With Aids) clinic and is currently in the midst of a two year clinical intensive with eminent Chinese Medicine vanguard, Lonny S. Jarrett.
When Darren isn't waking people up to the incredible healing potential that we all have within us, he can be found plucking his guitar while singing love songs to Mother Earth, staring lovingly at plants and trees with ever new found wonder and encouraging people to include 'qi' in their daily vocabulary (qi is a central Chinese Medicine concept and that has been loosely translated as 'vital energy' or 'life-force', though Darren likes to leave it open to interpretation. It is the reason acupuncture works miracles!). Darren is passionate to serve all people in the realm of health and help them create lives of artful beauty. As he constantly decries: 'You are what you are searching for!'

Christ Consciousness Healing with Mohammad
Mohammad's gift is a form of communion providing you with nurturing life force energy and fusion of divine power, presence and love in order to provide you with all that you require on a mental physical and spiritual level; in order to awaken, heal, balance, strengthen and nurture you and encourage your continued evolution, transformation and change.
Mohammad humbly acts as a bridge anchoring the Christ consciousness that enables you to experience the direct presence and energy of the divine in a way that you can best relate to it and receive it.
You are provided a very unique experience, a healing, an attunement, an awakening, an initiation - tailored individually to you. This is dictated by who you are; where you are in life and on your spiritual journey. Mohammad is merely the conduit through which this communion takes place, the vessel through which this communion can be tasted and experienced.
The divine energy is an energy that is found within the earth, air, fire, and in water. It is a very grounded, rooted and divine experience and force making it possible to not only experience a high awakening, but something very physical and something very earthly-oriented. Something happens within your blood, skin and bones. This energy is not patriarchal or matriarchal, but is a universal energy. It is a balanced energy for both the divine mother and divine father light and will express itself in a form most suited to you.

Reflexology with Amanda Whittal
Reflexology: Similar to shiatsu but primarily involving the feet (sometimes head and hands), this modality works to stimulate the different organs of the body. Our entire system is mapped out and connected to the foot. Massaging and stimulating these reflex points allows for better function of the body as a whole, and can help detect specific areas that need particular attention.
Amanda Whittal is a certified natural health practitioner and yoga instructor. She was trained in holistic therapies at the Transformational Arts College of Toronto, including practices bodywork (shiatsu massage, reflexology, swedish massage), and energy work (reiki, chakra clearing), and holds an HBSc with a specialist in psychology from the University of Toronto.
She studied yoga and spirituality at Kripalu Center in Massachusetts, the largest yoga center in North America, as well as with Deepak Chopra. The combination has created a foundation of skills and knowledge that allow her to assess each individual on all aspects of their being, creating unity and balance for her clients and students in mind, body and spirit.

Roots to Health: Chiropractic Consultation /Demo with Dr. Jennifer Yeung
Chiropractic: is a form of health care that focuses on the relationship between the body's structure, primarily of the spine, and function. Chiropractors use a type of hands-on therapy called manipulation (or adjustment) as their core clinical procedure. Adjustment is passive joint movement beyond the normal range of motion.
The basic concepts of chiropractic can be described as:
• The body has a powerful self-healing ability
• The body's structure (primarily that of the spine) and its function are closely related, and this relationship affects health
• Chiropractic therapy is given with the goals of normalizing this relationship between structure and function and assisting the body as it heals
Dr. Jennifer Yeung graduated from New York Chiropractic College in 1998 after completing a Bachelor of Science degree at the University of Toronto. She was the owner and operator of the Allan Gardens Wellness Centre in Toronto from 1999 until 2007, when she decided to stay home with her 2 young daughters. Dr. Yeung is excited to now be part of the healthcare team at Rosedale Roots to Health. She practices chiropractic using manual as well as low force techniques, and works with patients of all ages, including children and pregnant women. For more information, please visit www.rootstohealth.ca or email dr.yeung.rootstohealth@rootstohealth.ca

Shiatsu with Carlotta Trenholm
"I believe that reconnecting with our body creates awareness and from this awareness comes change."
Carlotta is a graduate of the Shiatsu School of Canada, offering one of the most extensive shiatsu programs outside of Japan. Using both Zen Shiatsu and Chinese Medical theory to diagnosis, she offers Tui Na (Chinese massage), acupressure and shiatsu to relieve your pain, tension and discomfort.
Eastern medicine recognizes the whole person by treating to unifying the mind with the body and spirit. The goal of shiatsu therefore is to stimulate proper 'Qi' (life-force energy) flow improving overall health. The aim of each session is to balance the meridians and points in most need of attention.
Using comfortable lean-on pressure, Carlotta treats using her thumbs, fingers, palms, elbows and knees. Receivers remain fully dressed in loose-fitted clothing and no oils or scents are used.
Shiatsu relieves many conditions such as headaches, neck and shoulder tension, back pain, digestive and elimination concerns, and fatigue. Shiatsu therapy promotes blood circulation and lymph, and increases vitality, energy and stamina while decreasing blood pressure. Each session includes a simple home care exercise and lifestyle modification suggestions to help you achieve better health.
Carlotta is both intuitive and compassionate with a natural curiosity and a strong desire to help people. She is also a parent and a volunteer.
Carlotta believes strongly in the power of touch and welcomes you to experience shiatsu on table or mat.

Hypno-sage with Tanya Pillay
Are your thoughts and imagination supporting or sabotaging your goals?
Anyone can harness and direct the power of the subconscious mind with
Self-Hypnosis, which is basically strategic meditation.
Clients experience lasting results in areas such as stress relief, procrastination, confidence, communication, sales and client interaction, sleep habits, releasing fears, TMJ (jaw clenching/tooth grinding), spending habits, overcoming obstacles, managing emotions, relationships, eating habits and fitness, concentration, smoking cessation....after only a few sessions (sometimes only one!).
Tanya's Bio:
My name is Tanya, and I first tried Hypnosis as part of my search for lasting relief from chronic muscle tension (including TMJ) and inexplicable mental and emotional stress (and their side effects, such as IBS). While therapies like massage and chiropractic brought some relief, I was frustrated to return to my original state the very next day after treatment. Osteopathy helped my body to function optimally, but my state of mind remained locked in worry. Psychotherapy helped me to better understand my habitual emotional and thought patterns, but I still had little success in changing them. Practicing Hatha yoga and the Alexander Technique helped somewhat, but I was convinced that deeper, more lasting relief was possible. After one Hypnosis session I felt more light and calm for an entire week. After six sessions, I felt like I was permanently on my way to being the me I was born to be before “life happened”. I was so blown away by my personal results that I had to learn more:
I am certified to practice hypnosis by the National Guild of Hypnotists (www.ngh.net), of which I am a Member in Good Standing (this means I have maintained their continuing-education requirements and I adhere to their Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice). I am also a member of the National Federation of Hypnotists OPEIU-AFL-CIO, the union that represents physicians, nurses, chiropractors, podiatrists, acupuncturists, midwives and other health care workers. I was trained and certified at the Ontario Hypnosis Centre School where I also learned about Gestalt-based coaching.

Reconnective Healing - with Andrew Baker
Reconnective Healing is a form of healing that is here on the planet for the very first time. It reconnects us to both the fullness of the universe and to the fullness of our beings and of who we are. It is considered to be able to reconnect us to the universe and to our very essence not just through a new set of healing frequencies, but through possibly an entirely new bandwidth. The reality of its existence has demonstrated itself clearly in practice as well as in science laboratories.
Andrew's bio:
Ever since the age of 15 when I accompanied my father to the gym for the first time, I have been a passionate and dedicated fitness enthusiast with influences ranging from yoga, dance, and martial arts, to power lifting, body building, and functional strength training. Ever since that time I read and practiced everything I could about various forms of fitness training and nutrition, and eventually these interests, in addition to my first major life crisis, lead to other wellness arenas such as holistic healing and spirituality while I was studying Film and Health at Queen's University. A few years later, after continued exploration and experimentation, I experienced 'Reconnective Healing' at a Healing Arts Party here in Toronto hosted by the lovely Dee Dussault (http://www.followyourblisstoronto.ca/), and immediately upon trying it I knew I wanted to become proficient in the art, and encourage it to all who were open and in need. It is a truly beautiful practice, and I feel very lucky to be in a position to encourage its Light and Information.
