Cupping (Chinese Medicine) with Michelle Stevenson

Michelle Stevenson grew up in Stratford Ontario. She had the good fortune of being part of a family which embraced health and well being from a holistic perspective. She was aware, from an early age, that it was her calling to be part of a healing profession.

She began her work as a health practitioner in dentistry. She graduated from Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology in Ottawa and began her practice as a dental hygienist in 2005 and still practices dental hygiene part-time.

Michelle then decided to venture into new realms of health care by devoting herself to the Doctorate Program of Chinese Medicine at The Institute of Traditional Medicine in Toronto. She will soon achieve her Diploma of Acupuncture, followed by further continuing studies in Chinese herbology toward the goal of the doctorate. She has a wealth of clinical experience in this area and offers the modality of acupuncture guided by her Chinese Medicine know-how to the pursuit of instilling balance, vitality and enduring health to her patients. Chinese Medicine (of which acupuncture and herbs are the primary tools) is an ancient and immense tradition of medicine that can offer support to every health problem, in both realms of body and mind and even spirit. Michelle is excited to continue to bring its powerful healing potential to the public and make them aware of the burgeoning jewels of health care offered by the alternative and traditional medicine sector.

Moreover, Michelle is a longtime champion of macrobiotics, a revolutionary nutritional paradigm introduced to the West by the eminent George Ohsawa of Japan. Michelle offers the wisdom of the macrobiotic tradition to imbue in her patients one of the most incredible medicines we have: the food we eat each day! Michelle is passionate to inform more people about how eating naturally and in balance can help us create and regenerate our life-force.
